Ben Smith from Fangoria.com's blog has a great article on Grendel's Den Design Studio, which you can read here.
I personally wanted to thank Ben for the feature. I greatly appreciate it.

Gary A. Braunbeck Portrait
The author that I was creating a portrait for is one of my all time favorites - Gary A. Braunbeck. The piece is finally completed and you can check it out in the GDDS Gallery.
There's also some new promotional material designs in the GDDS Print Section.

Work In Progress
I rarely show one of my art pieces before they're finished, but I am so damned happy with the progress of this one thus far that I have to show it off. This is an author's portrait, sans author right now since I don't want to let the cat out of the bag as to who it's for. I will give you a hint though - They're an award-winning author. Ha! Like that really narrows it down, right.

Upcoming Group Show / New Art and Design
I'll be participating in the group showing OBSCURA / Catwalk Tragedy, a two day event taking place on Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd at the The Trocadero Theatre here in Philadelphia. There will be various performances including Live Not on Evil and Rigor Mortis Review and a few photography book releases. I'll be there for the first night OBSCURA so be sure to come out and support local Philly creativity.
I've uploaded a couple of new things: A new print design for the upcoming event Power Strip Festival, which takes place July 10th and 11th at the The Trocadero Theatre. There's also new a new piece of artwork entitled "FINAL CUT", which is also available as a print!

ISP Outage
Verizon, my Internet Service Provider, is experiencing outages throughout the Philadelphia region today and doesn't expect to have things back to normal until 1:00 PM (EST) today. This means that my online access will be sporadic until Verizon has this issue fixed later today.

Ravencon Cancellation
Unfortunately I've had to cancel my appearance at next month's Ravencon. Even though I won't be there I highly suggest that you check it out. It's one of the better SciFi cons on the East Coast in my opinion.

New Site Design for Grendel's Den Design Studio
I decided that this site needed a major makeover, so here we go, a nice and new design for Grendel's Den Design Studio. It's more business focused so it will be easier for you to find information on all of the services that are offered. And the overall back-end is more streamlined so things should run faster. Please take a look around and if you happen to find anything wonky please let me know.

Away from Office Today (3/4)
One's chances of being selected for jury duty are vastly higher than winning the lottery. Guess which one I got? I will be serving jury duty for the city of Philadelphia today, Wednesday, March 4th. I will not be available via any means until later tonight. If you need anything you can email me at dave@grendelsden.net and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Scheduled Server Maintenance Tonight
Just a heads-up that the GDDS server will be undergoing a scheduled maintenance tonight at 11:00 PM EST.
The server will stay online during this time however all GDDS websites will be unavailable for an estimated 30-45 minutes. During this time an unbranded, generic "Under Maintenance" page will be displayed instead of the website content. Once finished all GDDS websites will be back online.

SalonCon Next Weekend
After much nagging from many of my beloved fans (you know who you are, ya lovable scamps), I made a last ditch effort to get my sorry ass into the vendor's room for next weekend's SalonCon... which panned out. Yes lords and ladies (or in my case hooligans and harlots) Grendel's Den Design Studio will be attending SalonCon, spooking the joint up.
For those of you not in the know, SalonCon is a gathering of folks who do what we oldsters call 'Steampunk'. Lots of you young'ns like to call it 'Neo-Victorian' or yeah, Steampunk. Right. In any case it's a pretty swank affair at a pretty swank price (25 shells if you nab them online by tomorrow, 35 bucks at the door). Check out the website for the shindig's schedule, which include a performance from Abeny Park.
See you there!
